On the Big Island, Hawaii, there is this stand of palm trees that sit right behind a pool that was built like an infinity pool. Being there at the right time on a cloudy day I was able to silhouette the trees against the sky. If only you could be there every day at the right time one could make a whole series of this stand of trees. Before 1839 that which seemed reasonable became the truth. After 1839 that which was in a photo was the truth. Today we even have to question all of that. As I like to say about photography, the truth is not necessary. For me it is about composition, construction, story, color, etc. Not truth. This place does not really exist. I manufactured this photograph. I will allow the viewer to decide if is a place they would like to see for themselves or if they are just happy being shown what could be.
