One of the classic “must sees” in the Pacific Northwest is Multnomah Falls, only 30 minutes from Portland.

This iconic location is over-photographed by the gazillions, a pedestrian photograph for me to display under most circumstances. None the less, our game affords opportunities to show work in conversation and shift the ordinary into a dialogue with fellow artists, bringing new context to hackneyed subject matter.

I liked the leap in environment in this image, from ice in a glass to ice on a scarp. This shift in context was less obvious for me, unlike some of my images that more closely “matched” Mr. Green’s photograph.

Winter, a less typical treatment of this tourist location, provides more visual interest in the subject.
