“Cloud Study” 12/20/19

This Cloud Study conveys the form and function of clouds existence & purpose.  In Arizona, we get only a few days of rain and a few days clouds, we seem to get about 350 days of totally clear blue skies. So one can imagine how surprised I was to see a cloud, some rain, and sunshine all on the same day! It was the “f16 rule” on here, except for iso 6400, 1/8000”, and tripod-less.

I like it! But, what is the f/16 rule?

Well that was a long time ago before you could look at the rear screen to see an image or histogram. Something like… Use f16 with shutter speed of 1/iso on a sunny day. So if you had loaded tri-X in your camera, 400 iso, your shutter speed would be 1/400″ You could also then figure a cloudy day would be f11 etc. No meter necessary. I use “P” for Professional :-O

Thanks Russ! Yes, maybe both trees, left and right, and make a square. But something in that corner to give weight to the image or for the eye to see something else I feel like it’s ok. Maybe cause it breaks a rule, that I like it. I here by reserve the right to re-crop before our retrospectives. Cheers!

Nice one David. I kinda want to crop out the right tree.. but I am not convinced about this inclination. Happy Holidays.
