Jennifer Bishop “Urban Mirror” 9/27/18

Inspired by the ethereal beauty of David Moore’s image of magical spectacles, I took to the streets today with an ornate mirror I had saved for some unknown purpose. I was hoping to make a photo that showed different aspects of the city in real time and in the reflection of the mirror. I tried variations of tree branches reflected in the mirror within an urban landscape, but in the end this was the version that engaged my interest the most. I like how spare and angular the telephone poles are, and the quiet posture of the man passing by, and the alternate reality of the pedestrian crossing sign.
