Entrances and Exits

An entrance is defined as an opening, such as a door, a passage, or a gate, that allows access to a place. Always enjoying how words relate to images, the reverse is also of interest to me. An opening can be a portal from one place to another place or even a dimension if one cares to take the meaning even further. To quote Alexander Graham Bell, ” When one door closes another door opens, but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.”  Could lack of hope be the problem here..? A bit more optimism might be in order..? What is waiting for the one who chooses to go through that passageway, that door to something else waiting on the other side. The bright light is beckoning the viewer to enter in, “Follow the Light my Friend.”

I’ve always been drawn to doors with light behind them, and have often tried making images of them. This is a really nice rendering of that – the quality of the white light!

This is very meaningful to us at this time.

Two thoughts, one I agree with Bonnie. The door from work to retirement. I also think of this as the door to Jesus and salvation.

You are very astute Toby. This image has many meanings.

And so it is for me, too. Both in meaning and especially the timing. As usual, exquisitely handled and the lighting is almost celestial.

My intent was to have the viewer become personally involved in the meaning. Thank You Sal.
