Glass House Wall

I needed to obtain some samples of clear glass with textures. The kind used to obscure showers, windows or bedroom windows. Any place you do not want people to be able to see through your glass windows. I had a shot in mind. It took me a while to find glass shops that carried those kind of samples. I was seeing more industrial-looking patterns, not rain, or swirls. Once back home, I had numerous spots to set up the shot. I wanted to “build” a glass house. Using silicone as a glue, it was taking too long to cure. So, I altered my shot to be close-ups of the textured glass. I added gels for intense colors, knowing they would reflect in the glass. My light source and “stage” was an old 5”x7” very portable light box. Perfect for the days we photographers would show transparencies. My lens was a Canon 100mm macro L. Handheld.

I’m glad it took too long to cure. I really like this. Cool feeling like Eliots with three-dimensional depth but yours with texture. Nice

The glass house looked really good with all the textures. However, getting it to stand on its own without supports required gluing and waiting and it was not feasible to do it in the time we are given. I would like to add an image here but not sure how you do that. I’m glad you enjoyed the image. I already sold a print of the image I posted.

Eliot Crowley’s “Prism” is a beautiful photograph of light and color centered around a prism. I used the texture from clear glass to build my glass house and l light the structure from below by using a light box. See the real image at the@Daily Photo Game.com. And look at Bob Stevens response to my image tomorrow.
