We can learn a lot from children. When we were young, didn’t we think just about anything was possible? When growing up some of us learned all the things that can go wrong and all the things we can’t do. But as young children the sky’s the limit. The curtains on the window become a stage, the room lights become theater lighting and there is no need for a microphone…it’s all an illusion created with their mind. My image is a record of just that kind of spontaneous creativity. After putting on a “Princess Gown” and singing along to the music from a movie that had been watched too many times, this little girl burst into song. Watching the whole process take place and waiting for the performance, my job was simple, I was there to capture the moment, record the event, a slice in time captured for the next generation. To approach creating images with a child like awareness and to make images with the freshness of youth would behove us all.
