The Daily Photo Game keeps me looking and thinking in times when my creativity might otherwise go fallow. We players in the game are creators with a lot of experience in doing it professionally, on demand, under a deadline and with specific parameters. We don’t just take good pictures and post them somewhere, thus qualifying ourselves as “photographers”. The Daily Photo Game is a place for us to try things and succeed or fail, naked to the world. Sometimes the process involves finding an archived image which may have been relegated to the “also-rans”, but nevertheless was held onto because there was something there that made it worth saving. In the context of the game it may work very well and take on new meaning. More often than not the game stimulates new thinking, seeing, and shooting, which keeps the eye working and the creative mind fresh. For today’s posting I was looking for shadows, but I found beads of light coming through window blinds instead. Both shooting and developing are processes that are creative and fun. The title availed itself during processing when the image started to take on a celestial appearance.
