The joy of feeling comfortable in water and the ability to swim in the ocean or pool is one of the best feelings ever. In this instance being taught by her father adds to the fun. Both of our children became excellent swimmers when growing up and anything involving water has always been a fun family activity. It seems only right that our grandchild should carry on the tradition. Endless energy and a great attitude are a real plus for little one’s learning to swim, and if the teacher has patience then the training becomes nothing but successful. I wanted to catch the relationship between father and daughter in this image. She trusting that her father will catch her and he being prepared to do so builds a bond. The moment caught here just as she pushes off the edge of the pool, still touching the side but a half of a second away from being in mid air. Waiting for the soft late afternoon light and the color of her swimsuit and floaty lay against the cool color of the water gives a pleasing color contrast. Seeing the father’s expression one can easily guess what is written on his daughter’s face.
