3 Red Lipsticks

It seems only right that bright red lipstick would go with a 50’s Cadillac.

I shot this today, playing off a small piece of the previous post. The shapes and colors jumped out at me immediately. A quick run to the store for some lipstick and I was off and running. I played with the lighting most of the day to isolate the shapes and shadows against a white background. I liked the contribution of the textural surface in the shadow, so worked to maintain that texture in the bullet shaped shadows while maintaining a white background.

All that is missing is a woman with a beehive blowing bubble gum.

Beautiful finale to the triumverate of yellow fin tuna, 42 inches, and 3 red lipsticks. Well done Russ!

stark and fun at the same time; and somehow those shadows emulate the shapes that run along an old Cadilac. Maybe the taillights?

Russ, this image is loaded. The nearly subliminal bullet shape of the shadows is a powerful comment when considered that thay are cast from the red fire of the vanities lipstick.

Thanks Jim Wilcher for your thoughtful comment. Loaded is right. Some people are seeing an analogy of Hillary in the image… the duality of the feminine mixed with the power of political office. This image is getting people all fired up, I have done my job.
