Photographing animals is not that easy. Try to get a chicken to hold a pose. Meet Luna, my egg-laying friend. She’s a Delaware breed. Many moons ago I used to raise exotic chickens. Each chicken has a unique personality. As with many breeds her feathers are distinct markings. She doesn’t like being held as you can tell by her mood caught in her eye expression. A black backdrop outside makes it look like a studio shot. You get a few frames on motor drive and she’s off and running. By the way, her eggs are brown in color and it is legal to have chickens in an urban environment.

Nice shot Blue. Love the combination of natural light and studio background.

    Thanks.
    Sometimes open shade works well.
