I find that I often take and enjoy the minimalist’s approach when making my images. I have also found that inspiration is not always spontaneous, so I sat down to work out some ideas for this posting. In front of me a doorknob presented itself, it was round and sat on a round base, all it needed was this low point of view and a shadow to describe the knob’s shape.  Inside the house the available light was not appropriate. I needed a hard shadow so I took the door outside allowing the sun to produce just what I had in mind.   My goal was to take this everyday ordinary object and graphically produce an interesting image; to make it into a simple and clean statement with as few elements as possible.
