In considering a response to Robert’s “Night Light” image for the Daily Photo Game, I thought a selfie (well sort of) might be a timely contribution. The strong form of his image drove many of my concepts and I did want to continue with the fabric narrative of the previous 3 posts, I liked their direction. My earliest captures began as a yogic expression, although those versions fell short of doing the topic justice. However, in examining the entire shoot, I selected this image for its uncanny illusion. This is NOT a Photoshop creation, rather a play of light and shadow. It feels like the figure has two sets of arms, one more relaxed, the other more active. Therefore I have titled this image “Duality”. The expression, while not exactly what I had planned on, is still compelling and fascinating to me. Please share and comment below. Thanks.
