A man alone with his thoughts

Trapped

I thought water from David, but didn’t really expect to get it. I have come to realize he will usually change things up for me, or at least that’s what I think. One of the things I have started doing since the start of “The Game” is creating photographs all the time in anticipation of being able to play them at some time in the future. Until today it hasn’t worked, but it has given me some new images in my files that I am very pleased with. I have two that can be played against David’s spider web. One, was made with my iphone. I’ll play it another day… maybe. This one was made specifically as a potential Game piece. In my Lightroom collections there is one named “The Game”. I put all the images made for “The Game” in there whether they have been used or not. This one works because of the idea. A man is trapped, like in a spider’s web. But his trap is this concrete room with nowhere to go, or look. He stares at the wall and expects, or simply waits for something to happen. The water on the ground also speaks to the dew on the web. While David’s web photo is a close up this is the opposite, allowing for a vast amount of negative space around the subject. Did I make this in response to David’s photograph? In a manner of speaking yes, and in a manner of speaking no. But it was created specifically for “The Game”. I just didn’t know when I would use it.

This is simply elegant and rich, a wonderful image.
