Salton Sea was formed by an accidental break in a water canal that help the Indio Calf. food growers with a water supply from the Colorado river.  It was a small resort area of sorts in the beginning, but was killed off by all of the runoff of the fertilizers used to grow food in the Indio valley.  It’s a dead sea with no cure foreseen. Nobody  swims, and nobody sunbaths anymore, just a shallow body of smelly poison. I was attracted to this grouping of palms, similar to but not as happy, to the palms that were in the movie “It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World”.  The Sadness of these palms stand before a beautiful huge body of water, as a warning sign to the unfamiliar.  The small lens flare I kept, because it looks like a far off moon, and yet not.  I looked at different layer modes to give a darker foreboding,  or un-worldly feel, but the over all bright Landscape with these palms in front was more my liking.
