As I drove a street I’ve traveled countless times, the light turned red. I stopped, and glancing to my right I spotted this oversized stuffed animal. I happen to be a big fan of Pandas’s but I confess I’ve never seen a pink one, let alone sitting on a bus bench. I pulled over, took out my iPhone and grabbed this shot before the traffic light changed. As I was processing this image today, I sat back at one point and it brought ‘LOL’ to life. I laughed and laughed. I was struck by the irony of how many photographs I’ve taken with elaborate plans, and hours (if not days) of labor invested. No such effort here, and I was suddenly present to the power of happenstance represented by my ‘Panda on a Bench’. Thanks to whomever left this whimsical character there for me to photograph.
