Invented in the late 50’s and popularized in the US during the 60’s this Danish creation caught my eye today amongst a box of vintage child’s toys. It’s interesting that I consider this vintage, but anything from my youth at this point in life is considered vintage in my book. I never really understood these rather freakish dolls even when I was a child. The crazy hair was the defining characteristic for me, but then you had to get past that face which feels like a cross between joy, surprise, and too much Botox.

It’s interesting that the current use of the word “ to post a comment online to create conflict or anger” and this doll even shares the same name. Conflict and anger are not something I think of when seeing this doll.

The process here was pretty straightforward with a little window light and a hint of the box and other contents contained inside to complete the story. I decided to convert this into B/W because, that’s the other thing about these little guys/gals, (likely they would be non-binary today…ha) the color of them was just too much sometimes.
