I like to wander around antique stores. I collect things. I happen to appreciate things that are old and well-designed, like wind-up alarm clocks and scales. While on a search for wind-up alarms, which are quite elusive by the way, I came across this friendly Felix the Cat with wonderfully malleable limbs. I was amazed to learn that Felix was created in 1919, pre-dating Mickey Mouse (1928) and was the first animated character to draw movie audiences. I envisioned an image with multiple Felix heads; but as I only had solo Felix, came up with the idea of using my bathroom mirror plus an unfortunately highly-scratched mirror, (the only other mirror that was handy,) to create my shot. And when I was through, it looked to me like the two Felix’s were being introduced to each other. Through the looking glass!
