I saw an empty kiosk filled with a wall of blank keys. I took out my cellphone and took a couple of quick shots by leaning into the space. This man came running into the cramped little trailer. “What are you doing! ” he said in a thick Israeli accent, while trying to catch his breath. “Oh no! I overstepped his boundaries,” I thought. “I’m waiting for you. I’d like to take your picture.” He sat down. Click. “Could you lean towards me on your elbows.” Click. I showed him what I meant and said, “Here’s my card, email me, and I will send you my shots.” One more click, and I was done, feeling lucky. Not so good when I got home and really wondered what was going on with his eyes. Was he wearing makeup? No, no, totally out of character. It was the shadow caused by his old-fashioned bifocals and his eyeglass frames. He looked a lot like the raccoon who lives next door. I retouched them out. I sent him the clean image, wondering if he would like it. “I love it,” came over the internet. I’m glad he was happy, but I love my untouched raccoon man shot!
