David B Moore “Museum Bench” 09/25/17

When I find something I like I will take a number of shots to find the composition.  Sometimes I will take only one shot if the subject has caught my eye but I cant make it work for me. This bench is a subject I’ve shot before at the Phx Museum of Art, but with the iphone.  Different day and different light, I was able to see something new.  I shot several of this bench but I knew right away the composition I wanted.  It came so fast and easily I felt that it was too simple.  But I had shot this bench and many other benches in the past.  In fact I showed a few prints to Ansel once for a critic, one image was a lonely bench looking outwards.  He was very kind to not crush a high school kid, Henry Holmes Smith was more direct and truthful.  The sting from a good critic will have more impact than a pat on the back, it just hurts longer.
