My turn and of course I bring back the human element to the game. My parents are both 89 years old, my dad has dementia and my mom keeps thinking he’ll snap at of it. You see she’s a control freak and the older she gets the more she insists on doing it herself. This weekend we had a family event in another state and it was just too much to take my dad and his caretaker so we left them home and mom came on the road trip and shared a suite with us. She didn’t want any help, wouldn’t take in consideration that there were people waiting for us and was generally a bit of a curmudgeon to deal with yet I will say she had all her senses with her friends. I snapped this picture as the steam from the shower subsided and she attempted to put on her “face” to deal with the world. It was surreal to see her struggle with simple things but be adamant about doing everything her way. The arguments weren’t worth it as this is who she has always been and at this stage of her life, the struggle is what is keeping her alive…
