Robert Nease “Frame” 10/04/18

There were several decades that almost all the projects that I photographed were created using a view camera. It became second nature to me and in my mind I saw the image in the ground glass reversed back to normal. I could work as fast as with a medium format camera and the results were very satisfying. On the rare occasion that a project needed to be created with a 35mm camera, it felt somewhat like a toy in my hand. Fast forward to now, almost everything I have created in the last several years had been with a 35mm digital device. This change in procedure has not changed the way I process ideas, only the ease with which to produce them. So the idea of old verses new, analog verses digital, the thought of using the ground glass and the back of the camera as a frame and capturing it all in digital form appealed me and seemed to be fortuitous. With the thought of how this image was to be finally displayed digitally, sent over the internet to a website, became the cherry on the top for me.

Way cool Bob, make that waaaaay cool. As always. This one took me back to happier, younger, simpler times.
