        I’ve seen mountains melt when lava burns up everything in its path. The big island of Hawaii is experiencing that right now. The earth’s guts are coming up from its molten core. We’ve all seen ice and glaciers and snow melt. On occasion it has a similar metallic liquid mercury-like look. The ice needs darkness around the water to get that metal element. The only difference is these are photographs, while the real lava instantly melts your rubber shoes. The water runoff from higher altitudes is very cold regardless of outdoor temperatures. It turns your flesh blue. Nature in its raw state is infinitely beautiful, peaceful, and aggressive.
